The Internet Reaches Out to Entertain the Baby Boomer!

Shows like Andy Griffith Show, Gunsmoke, Leave It To Beaver, Adams Family, The Munsters, and Car 54, all bring back warm memories from childhood. I can remember my brothers and I racing home after school to attack the cookie jar and then run to the TV to quarrel over which show to watch!

The era of the 8 track tape and these old black and white classic television shows had passed in to history until recently.

On October 4, 2007, TVLand.com launched it’s web site designed to entertain the baby boomers. Shows geared for the people in their 40’s and 50’s featuring special areas on the site devoted to all aspects of entertainment can be found on the web site.

The site has acquired the first official streaming rights to several of the shows that we as boomers have grown up watching and have shared with our children. Full length shows of some of the most loved black and white classics can now be watched on demand on the Internet at no cost.

Here are links to just a few of the many classics offered, each one will open in a new window for you to view.

The site is not just offering the classic shows. They want the entire boomer generation. For those that are not in to watching TV but like to listen to music, they offer dozens of channels by radio player. And we only thought disco was dead.

Visitors can read former Senior Editor of Rolling Stone, Ben Fong-Torre's blog about his thoughts and memories.

Today baby boomers use computers, ipods, cell phones, hand held devices for everything from entertainment to personal finances. It is no surprise that TVland.com is venturing out to become the ultimate baby boomer entertainment brand in all forms.

My children as many other boomer’s children have grown up watching the Andy Griffith Show and others like M*A*S*H. I look forward to sitting at the computer with my grandchildren and sharing the enjoyment and moments.

Who says the good ole days are gone!
